1) Perfect, except don't start with the "when" -- that's not the most important info. Slip it in partway through your lead:

2) The news is the one that's going to hit today, so start there.
3) This might work for broadcast, but not for print. For print, start with the most newsworthy info: Three firefighters were injured today while evacuating 41 families from a burning six-story building...
